Long distance running is one my favorite things to do! If I'm not studying, working or volunteering you will most likely find me running around downtown Honolulu. I wasn't always a runner. It started in 2011 when my mom ran her first marathon at age 48. I was inspired and thought "If mom can do it, so can I." That year, I signed up for my first marathon and a number of other races. I was instantly hooked! I loved constantly pushing my body and mind to new limits, and the feeling of accomplishment whenever I reached a new mile mark or set a personal record. Running became my "me time" and my way of de-stressing after a long week. Throughout the last five years, I have completed four full marathons, eight half-marathons, a number of other races and trained with two teams; Team Jet and Brian Clarke Endurance. Running brings me so much joy, from new friendships, challenges and life lessons learned. I am currently training for my first off-island marathon in Phoenix at the end of February, where I hope to reach my goal of breaking 4 hours.
